MIAMI, FL.- Dramatically enhancing the Louis Vuitton experience for Miami customers, Louis Vuitton North America announces the opening of its newest location at the Aventura Mall, in Miami, Florida.

Louis Vuitton is initially opening today, July 1st, in a temporary location in the Aventura Mall, which offers a full array of Louis Vuitton product categories and collections. A permanent Louis Vuitton store at Aventura Mall, adhering in design to the Maison’s latest global store concept, is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2012. The permanent location will offer a considerably larger retail experience than ever before to Louis Vuitton’s Miami customers, with an internal grand staircase linking two floors, and a prominent exterior façade. Spacious and exquisitely appointed, the store will house a full range of leathergoods, ready-to-wear, shoes, accessories, watches and jewelry, serving as an elegant showcase for the savoir faire and creative expertise Louis Vuitton is known for. With the opening of its temporary store in Aventura, Louis Vuitton has replaced its former location in Bal Harbour, which closed at the end of June.

“We are delighted to be bringing our Miami home to Aventura,” said Valerie Chapoulaud, President of Louis Vuitton North America. “Louis Vuitton has been an established presence in the region for several decades, and we wanted to respond to the ever-growing demand for our brand in Miami by offering our customers a significantly enhanced environment. Our new residence will provide guests with the ultimate Louis Vuitton experience, allowing them to enjoy a richer assortment of our collections and product categories in a magnificent new setting, and an exceptional level of personal service. Louis Vuitton Aventura will enable the Miami community to experience all the innovation, artistry and creative excellence this culturally sophisticated city deserves, and which continue to define the Louis Vuitton Maison after more than 150 years.”

Underscoring Louis Vuitton’s long-standing relationship with contemporary art, the temporary Aventura location features a space dedicated to a rotation of works by renowned artists, created in celebration of Louis Vuitton’s new Miami home. The first exhibit is by artist, Vik Muniz, whose collaborative work with Brazilian landfill workers was the subject of the Academy-Award Nominated documentary, WASTELAND, in 2011.

As part of the inaugural exhibit, Muniz has created a wooden sculpture inspired by Louis Vuitton’s iconic “LV” logo, in celebration of the move to Aventura. Composed of 23 individual logos stacked upon a single base, the sculpture is covered in printed canvas, illustrated with colorful drawings and art work which Muniz created in collaboration with students from the non-profit organization, SPECTACULU. Founded in 2000 by Art Director, Gringo Cardia, and respected Brazilian actress, Marisa Orthin, SPECTACULU is a School of Scenic Arts, Design and Photography for young people in high-risk environments, giving support and professional development to more than 200 students from in and around Rio de Janeiro. In honor of the opening, Louis Vuitton is making a donation to SPECTACULU.
