Keynote Speaker
This year's keynote speaker is Maria Ann Conelli, Founding Dean of the School of Visual, Media and Performing Arts at Brooklyn College and former executive director of the American Folk Art Museum. The topic is "Budgets, Boards and Bad Decisions".

The Sessions
The 2011 Directors Forum will begin with the opening dinner and keynote address at the historic National Arts Club on Gramercy Park. Two full days of informative sessions and events will follow at distinguished institutions throughout Manhattan, including El Museo del Barrio and the Morgan Library & Museum. Speakers will delve into subjects that explore board relations, legal policies, curatorial issues, and social media trends. Participants will also enjoy morning coffee receptions, luncheons, and special evening receptions that will continue the dialogue.

The goal of the Art Museum Partnership is to provide the leaders of nonprofit art museums with networking opportunities that facilitate the sharing of information, resources, and collections. The Partnership was primary established to benefit the directors of the small to mid-sized institutions that comprise the largest segment in the field, but are not currently represented by the Association of Art Museum Directors. However, since everyone can benefit from the knowledge of their piers, the directors of larger museums are also encouraged to participate and lend their support.
