Cheekwood announces new 2012 Officers and Board of Trustees

NASHVILLE, TN.- Cheekwood Botanical Garden & Museum of Art has recently announced new officers of the Board.

The new officers, who will serve for two years in these roles are:

Chairman: Mr. George B. Stadler, CFA
George Stadler is a founding partner of HMS Capital Management. George is responsible for business development, client service and is a contributing manager for HMS’s stable risk portfolios Prior to forming HMS, he was Regional Managing Director for the Personal Asset Management group at SunTrust. George graduated from Washington & Lee University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and German. He received his MBA with a concentration in Finance from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. A Nashville native, George is well known for his work with several local charities and their investment committees.

Vice-Chairman: Mrs. Lillian C. Bradford (Tooty)
Lillian Bradford, known to her friends as Tooty, has been active in the Nashville community for many years, focusing her interests on Cheekwood, Vanderbilt University, and the Vanderbilt Medical Center. Tooty was born in Springfield, Tennessee, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree at Vanderbilt University. She was married to James C. Bradford, Jr., deceased, who was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of J. C. Bradford & Co. They have two sons, Jay and Bryan.

Treasurer: Mr. Don MacLeod
Don MacLeod is a retired banking executive who formerly served as the Regional President responsible for Wachovia Bank's operations in Tennessee. During his 28 year career with Wachovia, he held various executive leadership roles at the company's headquarters in Charlotte, NC. He is a graduate of Montgomery Bell Academy and Vanderbilt University.

Secretary: Mrs. Katherine Higgins DeLay
Katherine “Kat” DeLay is Director of Sherman-Dixie Concrete Industries, Inc. She is actively involved in numerous civic and cultural activities including the Swan Ball, the Symphony Ball, the Antiques & Garden Show, St. Cecilia Academy, TPAC, the Martha O’Bryan Center, and Cumberland Valley Girl Scouts Council. She is a former member of the City of Oak Hill Planning Commission and a member of the Cathedral of the Incarnation. Kat received a BA in Journalism from the University of Mississippi and is the daughter of the Honorable Thomas A. Higgins, United States District Court Judge for the Middle District of Tennessee.
