TEFAF Maastricht at a touch, app provides a unique guide as the Fair celebrates its Silver Jubilee
The app can be downloaded for free at www.tefaf.com/mobile

HELVOIRT.- A unique free application will help visitors get the most out of their visit to TEFAF Maastricht as the Fair celebrates its Silver Jubilee at the MECC (Maastricht Exhibition and Congress Centre) in the southern Netherlands from 16-25 March 2012. Essential information about TEFAF and some of the works of art exhibited there will literally be at the fingertips of those using the app – it is the 21st century way of looking around the world’s greatest art and antiques fair. The app is compatible with Android, iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.

The free TEFAF Mobile Guide provides users with an interactive floor plan and an overview of Fair exhibitors to enable them to find their way around, together with information about restaurants and other facilities. They can watch videos of TEFAF and make notes about their favourite dealers.

A selection of about 180 works of art exhibited at TEFAF are shown on the Mobile Guide and this is reinforced by a new highlights audio tour sponsored by ING, the Dutch-based global financial institution. ING Art Management’s in-house specialists will give a unique presentation of 15 Fair highlights. The tour was prepared in conjunction with TEFAF’s exhibitors.

The app’s new Try Out TEFAF function enables users to see how some works of art would look in a particular location – does that Picasso suit their sitting room or is a designer chair right for their office? It even lets them decide whether a piece of jewellery looks good on someone they know. All app users have to do is select the work of art from a menu. A further screen shows it on its own against a transparent background and this template can be saved for use in the location or on the person of their choice. They can take a photograph of this and share it on Facebook and Twitter.

The app can be downloaded for free at www.tefaf.com/mobile and from the iTunes AppStore and Android Market. Use this QR code to be directed to the application - Blackberry users will be directed to the new TEFAF mobile website.
