DENVER (AP).- A woman accused of punching and scratching a multimillion-dollar painting at the Clyfford Still Museum in Denver before removing her pants and sliding down the artwork has been sentenced to two years of mental health probation.
Prosecutors said Thursday that 37-year-old Carmen Tisch was sentenced immediately after pleading guilty to criminal mischief in mid-May.
She was ordered to undergo alcohol treatment as a condition of her probation. Her mother said after Tisch was arrested in December that Tisch was an alcoholic.
A restitution hearing could still be scheduled.
Still is credited with pioneering the abstract expressionism movement.
Museum officials have said the painting that was attacked, 1957-J-No. 2, is valued at more than $30 million.
