NEW YORK, NY.- Bernarducci.Meisel.Gallery and Louis K. Meisel Gallery are ALL IN! They know the art world can be a gamble and are throwing in the chips. Both galleries will ante up and present a summer exhibition comprising of all their artists including a few wild cards from BMG’s First Look Program and special guest artists. All artists exhibited render precise moments of a visual event through a heightened technical execution of painting or sculpture. Some of the artists exhibited include Luigi Benedicenti, Roberto Bernardi, Hubert De Lartigue, John De Andrea, Randall Rosenthal, Raphaella Spence and guest artists Katherine Mangiardi and Linda Slocum.

The theme of the show is poker – and gambling, but more about taking chances than anything. You will see literal depictions such as Randall Rosenthal’s Hush Money, an envelope full of money – all carved out of one block of Vermont White Pine. Essentially a work of trompe l’oeil art, other artists that will trick your eye are Sharon Moody with her seamlessly painted depictions of comic books such as Mjolnir – To Thy Master (2011). This particular page of the contemporary Thor comic shows the Norse god calling to his mighty hammer, Mjolnir – that only comes to him and gives him extraordinary strength and power. Like Rosenthal, Moody was once a first look artist. This is her first inclusion in a gallery group exhibition as a Gallery artist.

Sculptor John DeAndrea has been exhibiting his work all over the world since the 1970s. His hyper-realist bronze sculptures, cast from life, of the nude female figure and painted to fool your eye into thinking its real. These life-size bronze sculptures are excellent renditions of the female form. Other Gallery artists included in this exhibition are Roberto Bernardi, Mel Ramos, Raphaella Spence, and Doug Webb, along with many others. Although the subject matter of each painting is different they all allude to taking chances – and the chance one takes is dependent on the viewer’s own personal perspective.

The exhibition will double up with the work of Linda Slocum, a photographer from Sullivan County, New York. Her photographs explore the expansive upstate New York rural landscape and their relationship with manmade additions like barns, bridges, and mills. Another guest artist, Simone Mortiz is a still-life painter from the Florence Academy of Art in Italy. In addition, painter, photographer, and installation artist Katherine Mangiardi will showcase her intricate black and white paintings of a lace collar.
