NEW YORK, NY.- In celebration of this summer’s highly-anticipated film, “Rock of Ages,” the world’s most comprehensive online gallery of pop culture fine art photography, Rock Paper Photo will present an exhibit by renowned lensman Mark Weiss, entitled “The Decade That Rocked The Ages - Through the Eyes of Mark 'Weissguy' Weiss,” June 13-20 at the GalleryBar in New York City.

The series, curated by Def Leppard’s lead guitarist Phil Collen, will reveal a chain of snapshots, including never-before-seen images photographed in the courtroom at the 1985 Parents’ Music Resource Center (PMRC) senate hearings by Weiss, who was one of the only behind-the-scenes photographers present during the events. The organization notably singled out Def Leppard’s “High n’ Dry,” labeling the hit as one of the “Filthy Fifteen” songs that were a contributing factor in propelling corruption in America’s youth and family values. It is because of this historic verdict that warning labels now adorn albums that include explicit lyrics; this is also the inspiration for the rock musical and motion picture, “Rock of Ages.”

Collen is the latest individual, hand-selected by Rock Paper Photo to serve as an esteemed guest curator; he joins the ranks of Guy Oseary, John Varvatos, Danny Masterson and journalist Rachel Felder. On Tuesday, June 12, he will host an exclusive VIP preview to unveil the exhibit, which features images of musical icons targeted by the PMRC, including his own band mates, Twisted Sister, Bon Jovi, Lita Ford, Journey, Whitesnake and Joan Jett, as well as the vibrant scene in Washington during the events.

This year marks Collen’s 30th anniversary with Def Leppard who, next month, embarks on their 2012 Rock of Ages Tour.

Rock Paper Photo lies at the intersection of sophisticated fine art and accessible limited-edition collectability. With an extensive inventory of images numbering in the thousands, the company works only with a carefully curated collection of photographers and participates intimately in the production process in order to assure the highest quality result. Its unframed and framed prints, offered in Silver Gelatin, Archival Chromogenic, Archival Pigment and Platinum, range in price from $250 to more than $10,000. A certificate of authenticity accompanies each hand-signed print.
