Art Gallery of Ontario's new free app lets users customize their photos with different artistic styles
AGO Express Yourself allows users of all ages to transform their photos into a sculpture, a collage or an Impressionist, Cubist or Pop Art masterpiece.

TORONTO.- The Art Gallery of Ontario introduces AGO Express Yourself, a free new app designed to help visitors and the public creatively explore various artistic movements and media. In a few easy steps, users can see themselves transformed into a masterpiece. This engaging app is available for Apple iOS and Android devices, as well as online.

“The AGO is all about finding ways for people to engage with art,” says Steve Rayment, director, marketing, design & publicity at the AGO. “The AGO Express Yourself app allows users to make art in five different exciting artistic styles, and to share their unique creations with their online friends and community.”

AGO Express Yourself allows users of all ages to transform their photos into a sculpture, a collage or an Impressionist, Cubist or Pop Art masterpiece. Users can further personalize their photos by modifying the vibrant colour palettes and the intensity of the filters by using the touch screen controls. More filters in different artistic styles are planned for the future.

Photos can be shared with friends, family and the AGO via Facebook, Twitter and Flicker. AGO Express Yourself is a fun and easy app that you can play with anywhere and is designed to encourage familiarity with different artistic styles and expressions. Home to over 80,000 works of art, the AGO is excited to provide visitors and the public with an interactive introduction to some of the famous artistic styles represented in its collection.

A version of the app is accessible online at agoexpressyourself.com, allowing anyone to play with it from their desktop too. AGO Express Yourself is free for download from the AGO at ago.net and through the iTunes App Store and Google Play by using the search term “Express Yourself”.

Produced by the Art Gallery of Ontario, AGO Express Yourself was designed and developed by Endeavor Marketing and Loop Media.

AGO Express Yourself complements the first AGO app launched in 2011. The Gallery’s first eponymous app puts into the hands of users information about current exhibitions, programming, audio guides, the Gallery’s collection and an interactive puzzle. Mobile devices make it easier for visitors to bring art with them wherever they go.
