PITTSBURGH, PA.- The Andy Warhol Museum has appointed Kilolo Luckett as the museum’s new Director of Development. Luckett comes to The Warhol from her most recent post at Designate, a project management and fundraising consulting services company for artists and nonprofits, where she served as president. Luckett will begin her new position at The Warhol on October 15, 2012.

Luckett has worked with The Warhol as project consultant for the museum’s Homewood Artist Residency program at Westinghouse High School. Her past clients include The Kingsley Association, East End Partnership, and the Pittsburgh Micro-Loan Fund. As a project consultant for The Heinz Endowments and the Pittsburgh Foundation in 2001-2002, Luckett researched and assessed Pittsburgh’s artists and small- to mid-sized arts organizations. She is an advocate for social and education equality in the Pittsburgh region, as has volunteered her services as an advisor to a two-year pilot program titled Girls As Grantmakers, a project of the Women and Girls Foundation, FISA Foundation, Eden Hall Foundation and the Jewish Women’s Foundation.

Director Eric Shiner states, “Kilolo Luckett will be an amazing asset to The Warhol Museum's development team thanks to her strong background in Pittsburgh's arts and philanthropic communities. She is a constant presence in our city's social scene and a true entrepreneur by nature, thus making her the perfect addition to The Warhol family. With her addition, the museum can continue to embark on major funding campaigns to increase the museum's endowment from our rather low $10 million to a much higher figure that will guarantee our financial stability well into the future.”

Luckett attended the University of Pittsburgh where she earned her B.A. in the History of Art and Architecture. She is a graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh’s Leadership Development Initiative X class. Luckett was named The Changer by Whirl Magazine as one of Pittsburgh’s Young Guard, a feature that recognized her as a young leader of social and cultural change in the Pittsburgh region. She was also the recipient of the Women in the Material World Award, an honor given by the Women and Girls Foundation for her contributions in economic development.

Luckett has traveled to Europe, North Africa, and Mexico, where she spent a summer in Guadalajara teaching English to children and building houses for lowincome families. In her spare time, she enjoys hosting art and design events, collecting art, and mentoring youth.
