NEW YORK, NY.- The Art Fair Company is pleased to announce that the METRO Show has formed an alliance with the Editions | Artists’ Book Fair. This new cooperative venture will enable the group to mount the 15th edition of the E|AB Fair which, scheduled to take place November 1-4, was cancelled due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy. Editions | Artists’ Books runs concurrently in the Altman Building next door to the Metropolitan Pavilion, where the METRO Show will be held from January 23-27.

“Understanding that Susan Inglett’s Editions | Artists’ Book Fair was a casualty of the devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy, we are delighted to provide a home for her esteemed fair” said Caroline Kerrigan Lerch, director of the METRO Show.

Says Susan Inglett: “We are grateful to our friends and colleagues at The Art Fair Company who have provided this incredible opportunity and are pleased to be exhibiting alongside their annual METRO Show at the adjacent Metropolitan Pavilion.”

According to Inglett, visitors can count on exciting new offerings from the distinguished international exhibitors, as well as a full schedule of innovative events and opportunities. Special events include Kayrock’s update on the Surrealist Exquisite Corpse, Invisible Corps, featuring artists Matthew Brannon, Ernesto Caivano, Chie Fueki, Kanishka Raja, Fred Tomaselli and Wendy White who will work independently throughout the day towards a final collaboration, printed and sold on site. Not to be outdone, Print Center has orchestrated the installation of a spectacular performative creation from Dennis McNett, Viking Ship. McNett, known for his elaborate constructions papered with relief prints, will be leading a workshop in Viking Shields. Visitors will have yet another chance to get their hands dirty when bookmaker extraordinaire Esther Smith hosts “Make Your Own Artists’ Books”. Punk Cult Club (Holland) comes to New York care of artKitchen and Luiscius Books in the form of lectures, screenings and a hair salon, read Mohawk. Finally, Long Life China will create long life china before your very eyes. For information about all of this and more, visit www.eabfair.com for updates.

Says Inglett: “In honor of our 15th Anniversary, we have the great pleasure of announcing that Dana Schutz has created the special edition print to benefit the Fair.” The presciently named Backstroke has been produced as a three-color woodblock print in a limited edition of 25. Dana has been working in innovative ways in printmaking since her graduation from Columbia in 2002 and continues to push our understanding and appreciation for the medium.
