BLENHEIM, ON.- RM Auctions, the official auction house of the Concours d’Elegance of America at St. John’s, returns to the Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth, July 27, for its 19th annual Michigan sale. The well-established auction—formerly known as the Meadow Brook sale—is a featured attraction of the concours weekend and enjoys a strong reputation for presenting outstanding American and European classics.

In 2012, the auction realized more than $6.8 million in sales, with top honors going to a 1930 Duesenberg Model SJ Convertible Victoria by Rollston for $957,000. This year’s sale is set to continue the momentum, lifting the gavel on more than 80 quality automobiles, with an emphasis on important and historic American classics.

Early entries include a wonderful roster of more than 25 motor cars from the esteemed collection of Michigan-based automotive enthusiasts Richard and Linda Kughn. Spanning more than 60 years of automotive production, the collection prominently features a host of great American marques, with multiple examples from Cadillac, Pierce-Arrow, Packard, and Ford. Included in the offering is a 1930 Cadillac V-16 All-Weather Phaeton formerly owned by noted V-16 collector Richard Gold (Est. $150,000–$200,000); a beautifully restored 1922 Duesenberg Model A Doctor’s Coupe with unique Fleetwood coachwork and known ownership from new (Est. $175,000–$225,000); a 1931 Lincoln Model K Sport Phaeton with stunning open coachwork (Est. $175,000–$225,000); and a trio of restored Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Coupes, including examples from the ’47, ’48, and ’49 model years.

In addition to the Kughn Collection, the July sale will also present an exceptional 1929 Duesenberg Model J Dual-Cowl Phaeton, J183, known as Jim Hoe’s legendary competition Model J and benefitting from a recent concours quality restoration (Est. $725,000–$900,000). Additional early highlights include a luxurious and powerful 1935 Packard Twelve Coupe Roadster (Est. $200,000–$250,000) and a 1931 Cord L-29 Cabriolet, largely considered one of the most innovative automobiles of the Classic Era (Est. $175,000–$225,000).

Paired with the annual Concours d’Elegance of America at St. John’s on Sunday, July 28, the events make an intimate hobby weekend for motoring enthusiasts.
