MARFA, TX.- For the past 12 years, musician Bryan Adams has sharpened his skills as a professional photographer by capturing intimate images of friends and colleagues in the entertainment, fashion and art industries.

In October 2012, Adams released a comprehensive retrospective of his photographic work in a book titled, “Exposed.” Twenty-nine select images from the book will be on public display at the Marfa Contemporary, as the final stop of a 3-city U.S. tour of art venues in Dallas, Oklahoma City and Marfa, TX.

The show will be free to the public. Bryan Adams “Exposed” will be the third exhibition at Marfa Contemporary since its opening in October 2012.

Portraits in the exhibition include a cross-section of international celebrities and emerging stars such as Danny Trejo, Victoria Beckham, Lindsay Lohan, Amy Winehouse, Mickey Rourke, Natalia Vodianova, Pink, Mick Jagger, Sean Penn, Queen Elizabeth II, Sir Ben Kingsley and South African rave rapper Yo-Landi Visser.

A limited number of the Bryan Adams edition-images and copies of the “Exposed” coffee table book will be available for sale at Marfa Contemporary.

Bryan Adams’ photographs of distinguished personalities from the world of fashion, art and music precisely mirror the major public preoccupations of the 21st century. ‘Exposed’ comprises work that is accessible but challenging, offering the audience a creative tension of sorts,” said Mary Ann Prior, executive director, Marfa Contemporary. “It’s my aim to form connections – between art and the individual, between viewing and learning, between the easily understandable and the unfamiliar – and this exhibition does it on all levels.”

The tour kicked-off in Dallas at The Goss-Michael Foundation in late 2012 with rave reviews from art critics, patrons and national and regional media. The second stop for the exhibition premiered at the Oklahoma Contemporary on Tuesday, February 26 and will run through Friday, May 17, 2013 before opening at its satellite gallery, Marfa Contemporary on May 31.
