AUBURN, IND.- On Saturday, August 31 during the live NBC Sports Network broadcast, Auctions America will offer a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Pro Mod without reserve to benefit the Darrell Gwynn Foundation. The charity race car is part of Auctions America’s highly anticipated Auburn Fall Collector Car weekend in Auburn, Indiana, with proceeds from the Chevelle’s sale supporting the foundation’s Wheelchair Donation Program.

“It’s an honor and a pleasure to work with Darrell Gwynn and his team for this unique sale,” says Donnie Gould, Auctions America. “Their efforts to generate spiral cord injury awareness, and funding and mobility for those who have experienced paralysis are nothing short of inspiring. We hope the sale encourages others to support this cause.”

Weighing only 2,600 pounds and powered by a recently freshened 700 cubic-inch, Merlin all-aluminum engine with nitrous, the Chevelle is competition ready for top Sportsman Pro Mod Supercharger, ADRL and NHRA classes. It was professionally built with all the best components, with no expense spared by the previous owner to create this drag racing warrior.

“This is an incredible car,” says Darrell Gwynn, foundation founder and drag racing legend. “We received it through a private donation, and are excited to see it now cross the auction block. Proceeds from its sale will change the lives of several children and families by giving them the gift of mobility, freedom and independence.”

A Labor Day weekend tradition among collector car enthusiasts, Auctions America’s Auburn Fall event is one of the country’s premier celebrations of the hobby. New this year, NBC Sports Network is broadcasting August 29-31 from the historic Auburn Auction Park. The weekend kicks off with a dedicated memorabilia sale featuring 400 lots from the personal collection of enthusiast, Kirk F. White, on August 28, followed by a 1,100 collector car auction. Additional event highlights include a car corral and swap meet produced by Carlisle Events, as well as vendors, celebrity appearances, a monster truck show and more.
