BRUSSELS.- On the occasion of the Super Dakota grand opening, the gallery will present the group exhibition Void.

The title of the exhibition isn’t to be taken literally, there is nothing null about the works shown in this exhibition and its apparent emptiness shall not be taken lightly.

Sometimes one has to look under the microscope, or take a step back for the essence of a subject to appear in its eyes, its minds. We have to look through the eyes of the artist to see the visible, the intangible and the emotional surface. This is when the invisible appears as a buzzing or cacophonous silence, a treasure revealed by absence.

“There is such a thing as poetic, ecstatic truth. It is mysterious and elusive, and can be reached only through fabrication and imagination and stylization.” --Werner Herzog

The exhibition is to be apprehended as a journey, and a spiritual initiation. From work to work, through light and darkness, the viewer’s imagination never ceases to be tested. One must indulge in contemplation to discover an Art where nothing is to be seen but to be completed.

Listen to the silence, trying to pierce its mysteries to finally see. So everything becomes clear, and abstraction leads to the apparition, the void gazes at the whole, the sound becomes silence.

The works stand at the confluence of genres. Abstract paintings by Jean-Baptiste Bernadet stand with photographic compositions of Jan Groover, Joachim Bandau’s minimalist forms oppose reconstructed landscapes of Ian Pedigo and Martin Groß. A broad range of practices and subjects pave this personal journey where it belongs to each and everyone to reveal its own truth.

The exhibition features works by Joachim Bandau, Jean-Baptiste Bernadet, Baptiste Caccia, Jan Groover, Martin Groß, Agata Madejska, Ian Pedigo, Iris Touliatou, Christian Vetter, and will be held from September, 7th 2013 to October 26th 2013.
