LONDON.- ARTUNER is a new and innovative online platform, founded by Eugenio Re Rebaudengo, launching on 12 October 2013. ARTUNER provides unprecedented access to expertly curated exhibitions of both established and emerging artists. With an intimate visual experience that offers an environment traditionally reserved only for established collectors, ARTUNER assures art enthusiasts a new way to access museum quality works. An unparalleled level of support and expert insight set ARTUNER apart from their online competitors.
ARTUNER is an avenue for new and experienced collectors to view and buy art chosen by an evolving roster of eminent international curators. Works are exclusive to the site, with a programme of exhibitions (curations) throughout the year in a variety of mediums. Unique to ARTUNER, all works can be viewed to scale both in a room and in ultra-high definition, rendering every detail of the work visible, including the support layer. Prices start at £2,000 to inspire visitors of all ages and interests, and engage with a new generation of collectors.
Integral to ARTUNER is an educative and academic approach, confirmed by the museum quality curations and expert guidance offered on the site. With essays ranging from the care of fine art photography to the hanging of works, visitors can gain insight into the art of collecting from world-renowned experts in the field, something rarely accessible to those not already versed in the ways of collecting.
The inaugural ARTUNER exhibition will be a solo show of vintage and modern prints by Italian photographer Luigi Ghirri (1943-1992), widely considered one of the most important Italian photographers of the twentieth century. The prints come mostly from Ghirris renowned 1980s series The Profile of the Clouds, and will be curated by the acclaimed photography expert, Filippo Maggia. With a 2013 retrospective at MAXXI (Rome), and works held in such prestigious permanent collections as MoMA (New York), Centre Pompidou (Paris), and the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam), the exhibition is representative of the calibre of artists ARTUNER will offer collectors worldwide. It is this exceptional level of work that embodies the spirit of ARTUNER by making exclusive and important works available to all.
ARTUNER was founded by Eugenio Re Rebaudengo, a prolific collector who is eager to share his passion for contemporary art. Re Rebaudengo has long been integral to his familys Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, reflected in his appointment to the Board of Directors in 2008. The Foundations ambitions to support and promote international contemporary artists while encouraging a greater understanding of contemporary art is visible in the accessibility and openness of Re Rebaudengos new venture. Re Rebaudengo is also a member of the Tate Young Patrons Ambassador Committee, and Whitechapel First Future committee.
