HONG KONG.- Sotheby’s today announces the appointment of Wendy Lin as Managing Director, Sotheby’s Taiwan, replacing Winnie Chang who has decided to pursue other interests. Based in Taipei, Ms. Lin is responsible for overseeing the operation of Sotheby’s Taiwan office, developing client network and local business, as well as supporting Sotheby’s businesses worldwide.

“We are delighted to welcome Wendy to the team,” says Kevin Ching, Chief Executive Officer of Sotheby’s Asia. “With her solid experience in luxury marketing and business development, particularly in the field of fine jewellery, I am confident that Wendy will bring added strength to our Taiwan team as we continue to expand our client base in this established market, as well as to bring exceptional properties to collectors with the highest level of service and expertise.”

Wendy Lin says, “I am excited to be coming back to Sotheby’s as its business in Asia has gone from strength to strength in recent years. I look forward to bringing the best objects and services to the new and seasoned collectors from Taiwan, and assisting them in their art collecting journey.”

Ms. Lin possesses over 15 years of experience in luxury marketing and solid knowledge in the fine jewellery and watch market. Prior to joining Sotheby’s, Ms. Lin worked in an art consultancy firm, advising clients ranging from auction houses, art galleries to fine jewellers, on marketing strategies in Greater China. In the late 1990s, Ms. Lin first joined Sotheby’s Taiwan focusing on Business Development and later became Jewellery Specialist in Hong Kong. Her passion in fine jewellery then led to an appointment as General Manager, Watch and Fine Jewellery Division of Chanel Inc. Taiwan, where she was responsible for business strategy formulation as well as profit and loss management of the company.

Ms. Lin holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA. She is also a Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America.
