OTTAWA.- Mr. Michael Tims, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the National Gallery of Canada, warmly welcomed the reappointment of Marc Mayer as the Director of the National Gallery of Canada for a second term of five years. Mr. Mayer’s reappointment was announced yesterday by the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Tims commented that “Marc Mayer is an excellent leader for Canada’s National Gallery. He is a catalyst in moving the Gallery forward on a number of fronts, including: increasing private donations and corporate sponsorship; assisting with key exhibitions and art loans; and enhancing the Gallery’s outreach and its partnerships with other galleries and museums.
