LEEDS.- A new exhibition showcasing the work of sculptor Bruce McLean, one of the most important artists of his generation, opened at
Leeds Art Gallery, this Friday 14 February, 2014 until 11 May 2014.
The exhibition Bruce McLean: Another condition of Sculpture features works that have never been exhibited together before including paintings, drawings, ceramics, film and photography made by McLean over the past 50 years.
A new body of paintings in which McLean carries forward his frank and open dialogue with sculptures and sculptors of the past is also being shown.
Accompanying the exhibition is the first public showing of a new live performance The Changing Room, by McLean, which will be held in the Tiled Hall at the Art Gallery on May 8 2014.
Councillor Lucinda Yeadon, Leeds City Councils executive member for leisure & skills said: I am really looking forward to the opening of this new exhibition at Leeds Art Gallery, which will provide an interesting and insightful look into the diverse work of Bruce McLean.
Bruce McLean (born 1944, Glasgow) lives and works in London. He is represented by Bernard Jacobson Gallery, London and Tanya Leighton Gallery, Berlin.
