Oklahoma City Museum of Art Film Curator to step down

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK.- After 19 years at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, Film Curator Brian Hearn is leaving the Museum.

"Brian has brought an impressive record of achievement to the Museum and we are grateful for his dedication, passion, and creativity. His commitment to developing a program of international reputation has been commendable and will have a lasting impact on our region," praised E. Michael Whittington, President and CEO of the Museum.

Jeanne Hoffman Smith, OKCMOA board member and film enthusiast responsible for the Thatcher Hoffman Smith Film Endowment added, "Brian has earned an Oscar for being one of the most knowledgeable and effective master curators of film in the country. We will all miss him and owe him our deep appreciation."

Whittington added that a national search would begin immediately for his replacement.

"Among the rewarding aspects of my career at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art were creating an outstanding program featuring independent films and bringing national recognition to the Museum. It has been an honor and privilege to serve as the Museum's Film Curator," said Hearn.
