NEW YORK, NY.- Y Gallery presents Lost & Found by Raimundo Edwards, winner of the 2013 CCU Art Grant. Through CCU Art Grant, CCU intends to acknowledge and strengthen the development and internationalization of Chilean contemporary artists, to generate an environment for dialogue promotion, as well as the exchange of experiences and knowledge with artists and entities related to art at a worldwide level, to show their work and to create networks.

Raimundo Edwards most recent work has to do with the displacement and twisting of pictorial language, through the material and conceptual relationships that develop in the combination of different states of representation: from painting to photography, video and object. In general terms, the main focus of his work lies in the relationship between nature and culture: the coming together of organic elements with elements belonging to the industrial world, placed in combination in a specific architectural space. Thus, color and form become parts of a fragmented assemblage, in which different visuals, materials and symbolic relationships take place.

Raimundo Edwards (1979, Santiago-Chile) holds a BFA at Finis Terrae University and a MA in Visual Arts© from the University of Chile. He has received the Award A.I.C.A. 2009, the second prize at MAVI – Museum, Cabeza de Ratón competition, 2011. Scholarship and Fellowship Taller BLOC residence 2013 and CCU Art Grant 1st Prize, Santiago, 2013. His solo exhibitions includes: Retorno, MAVI Museo de Artes Visuales, Santiago, 2013; Colisión, Oficina Barroca, Santiago, 2012; Sintaxis , AIEP Sala de Arte, Santiago, 2012; Cromo(CR), Galería Centro, Talca, 2010.
