LONDON.- Christie’s announced Ronald Phillips Ltd: Making Room, which will be held on 2 July 2014. The auction of over 300 lots presents a wealth of opportunities for international collectors and interior designers to acquire a broad selection of objects from Ronald Phillips Antiques Ltd., one of the world’s leading antique galleries. The rich and varied array of items will suit many tastes, with estimates ranging from £500 to £100,000.

We are in need of more showroom and warehouse space and therefore, I am offering here at Christie’s a selection of furniture and decorative items that I have acquired over the years. Some pieces we have outgrown, others we have not got around to restoring and others, although wonderful are being let go to create space for fresher items. What unites all of these pieces however, will be their affordability and all lots have been estimated accordingly. Highlights of the sale include a George II giltwood side table circa 1730, in the manner of William Kent (estimate: £60,000 – 100,000), a pair of George III mahogany cockpen armchairs, circa 1760 (estimate: £7,000 – 10,000), a collection of five Regency polychrome-painted dummy boards (estimate: £4,000 – 6,000) and a George III giltwood oval mirror, circa 1765, in the manner of Robert Adam (estimate: £15,000 – 25,000).
