LONDON.- A new season of Exhibition on Screen by award-winning arts documentary maker Phil Grabsky & Seventh Art Productions will delight art lovers in more than 40 countries across the world.

Exhibition on Screen has delighted audiences in over 1000 cinemas throughout the U.S.A, Canada, Europe, Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Latin America. It’s given viewers, for the first time ever, a front row seat to the world’s greatest art in high definition on the big screen. No crowds, no queues and no need to travel to London or other capitals, but the opportunity to take your time and come face-to-face with some of the greatest works of art ever created, in the convenience and comfort of your local cinema.

The first film in the new series is simply entitled Matisse from Tate Modern and celebrates the life and work of one of the true giants of modern art. Released worldwide from 4 November, the camera takes the viewer on an intimate, behind-the-scenes tour of Tate Modern’s blockbuster Henri Matisse: The Cut-Outs exhibition that opened to international acclaim in April 2014. The landmark show explores the final chapter in the artist’s long and distinguished career, which saw him ‘carving into colour’ and create a series of spectacular cut-outs.

Featuring interviews with experts, including Tate Director Nicholas Serota along with friends and relatives of Matisse, the film also includes rare archive footage of him at work. Unseen by many visitors to the exhibition itself, cinema audiences will be able to enjoy a breathtaking dance performance inspired by Matisse's cut-outs by the Royal Ballet's prima ballerina Zenaida Yanowsky, while celebrated jazz musician Courtney Pine performs a piece invoking the golden age of jazz via the improvisational rhythms which Matisse compared to his own way of working when making the cut-outs. In January – in the USA & Canada – a special version will be released entitled Matisse from Tate Modern and MoMA – featuring specially shot coverage of the exhibition’s move from London to New York.

To coincide with the year’s must-see National Gallery, London and Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam exhibition, Rembrandt: The Late Works, the corresponding Exhibition on Screen documentary promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime event in its own right.

Every Rembrandt exhibition is eagerly anticipated but this major new show will be like no other. Rembrandt’s moving life story is interwoven around the paintings themselves, which many regard as the Dutch master’s finest work. This film explores each of the exhibition’s key works, through contributions from expert curators and leading art historians. For many, Rembrandt is the greatest artist that ever lived and this film seeks to explore the truth about the man behind the legend. It screens in the UK on 2 December.

Interest in the most iconic of Johannes Vermeer’s works was sparked by Tracy Chevalier’s remarkable novel Girl With A Pearl Earring. Peter Webber’s subsequent 2003 drama, starring Hollywood stars Scarlett Johansson and Colin Firth, further heightened global interest in Vermeer’s arresting portrait that has become - like Leonardo’s Mona Lisa - one of the world’s most enigmatic paintings. Naturally, it lends itself to a fascinating study for Phil and his team as they seek to answer questions such as who was this girl? Why and how was it painted? Why is it so revered? What drove more than a million people to visit her on her recent global tour...

With unparalleled exclusive access to what some call ‘The jewel of northern Europe’s museums’ the film goes on a behind-the-scenes detective journey to seek out the answers to questions about the ‘Girl’ – those answers all lie within the other extraordinary masterpieces housed in this royal collection. Exhibition on Screen: Girl with a Pearl Earring and other Treasures from the Mauritshuis Museum, Netherlands is released on 13 January 2015.

Continuing this exploration of Netherlands’ artistic titans, 14 April gives fans of the Post-Impressionist Vincent Van Gogh a genuine treat.

Vincent Van Gogh: A New Way Of Seeing is a 90-minute, stunningly detailed tour of the treasures contained in Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum and beyond. This Exhibition on Screen is a brilliant new insight into one of western culture’s most fascinating and beloved artists. To help answer these questions comes a Exhibition on Screen documentary about The Impressionists - an eagerly anticipated international exhibition and quite possibly the most comprehensive exploration of the Impressionists in history.

It was 19th century Parisian art collector Paul Durand-Ruel’s brave decision to exhibit the Impressionists in New York in 1886 that introduced enlightened wealthy Americans to this modern form of French painting. In doing so, he not only filled great American homes and galleries with Impressionist masterworks, but ironically breathed new life into an art form facing complete failure back in its native France. In cinemas from 26 May 2015 this energetic and revealing film tells Durand-Ruel’s extraordinary story, along with that of the Impressionists themselves and features universally loved masterpieces by Monet, Degas, Cézanne, Renoir, Pissarro and many more.
