DUBLIN.- ...a perfectly crowded scene of sorts, with fences and screens, a heron, chairs, permanent marker, Fruit Loops, mild steel and powder coated aluminium, wire, balls, leather, Plexiglas®, more chairs, glass beads, a mask, puke, Gena Rowlands, Leonardo and Krang, more puke, ceramic, jesmonite, a performance maybe, butt hole surfers, neon cord, toxic waste, carefully diffused light, paint, Skittles, rubbish, electrical cable, frozen pizza, three A0 posters and of course, Mel Brooks.

Caroline Achaintre lives and works in London. Having trained as a blacksmith in Germany, Achaintre subsequently studied fine art at Kunsthochschule in Halle/Saale, Chelsea College of Art & Design and Goldsmiths College. Solo exhibitions include Smith’s Row, and UH Galleries, UK (both 2013); Arcade, London (2012); Arcade, London (2010); Mirko Mayer, Cologne (2008); Fake Estate, New York (2008); Blow de la Barra, London (2007) and The Showroom, London (2005). Aleana Egan lives and works in Dublin. Current projects include Vestibule , a large-scale public commission, Merrion Square, Dublin (2014). Recent solo exhibitions include Douglas Hyde Gallery, Dublin (2012); The Drawing Room, London (2011); Mole Vanvitelliana, Ancona (2010); Temple Bar Gallery, Dublin (2009); and Kunsthalle Basel, Switzerland (2008). Recent group exhibitions include Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin, Veneklasen/Werner, Berlin, and Jupiter Artland, Edinburgh (2013); Sculpture Center, New York, and Landesmuseum Münster, Germany (2010); 5th Berlin Biennale, Berlin and Kunsthalle zu Kiel (2008).

Mark Francis’ solo shows include Dirimart, Istanbul (2014); Abbot Hall Gallery, UK (2010); Dublin City Gallery, The Hugh Lane (2008); City Art Gallery, Manchester (1995); and a highly acclaimed retrospective exhibition at Milton Keynes Gallery (2000). His work was featured in New Generation , Kunstmuseum St. Gallen, Switzerland and in Cream , Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki (2010). Francis’s work featured in the much debated Saatchi Collection exhibition Sensation , Royal Academy, London and the Brooklyn Academy, New York, and in the touring exhibition Absolut Vision: New British Painting in the 1990s . He is represented in numerous collections.

Currently with a major exhibition, The weakened eye of day running at Irish Museum of Modern Art, Isabel Nolan’s recent solo shows include the Musée d’art moderne de Saint Etienne, France (2012), the Return Gallery, Goethe Institute, Dublin (2012) and the Model, Sligo (2011). Other solo shows include Goethe Institute (2003), Project Arts Centre (2005), Gallery 2, Douglas Hyde Gallery, (2008), all in Dublin, and in the Studio, as part of Glasgow International 2006 and in Artspace, New Zealand in 2008. She represented Ireland at the 2005 Venice Biennale in a group exhibition, Ireland at Venice 2005 . Nolan also recently showed in The Black Moon , curated by Sinziana Ravini in Palais de Tokyo, Paris.

Sam Keogh completed an MFA at Goldsmiths College, London this year, and graduated with a BA in Fine Art Painting from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin, 2009. Solo exhibitions include Kerlin Gallery, Dublin (2013); Project Arts Centre, Dublin (2012); and Storefront, Vancouver BC (2010). Recent group exhibitions include In the Line of Beauty , Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin (2013); a two-person show, The Model, Sligo (2013); WORKHEAD, NCAD Gallery, Dublin (2012); EVA International, curated by Annie Fletcher, Limerick (2012); Brucennial 2012, New York.

Jan Pleitner is a graduate of the Dusseldorf Akademie, where he studied under Tal R and Jorg Immendorf. He is showing at Kerlin Gallery for the first time, and recently presented his first museum show, held at Stadtmuseum Oldenburg, Germany last year.
