NEW YORK, NY.- Dominique Lévy announce that her eponymous gallery, based in New York City and admired internationally for a rigorous program focused on path-breaking European and American Post-War and contemporary art, will open a new space in London in autumn 2014. Dominique Lévy London will be located at 22 Old Bond Street, steps from the Royal Academy of Arts in the city’s Mayfair district.

Much like the gallery’s Manhattan home in a designated landmark building at 909 Madison Avenue, Dominique Lévy London will occupy a floor within an historic building constructed by the Duveen family in the 19th century, based upon the design of a favorite palazzo in Venice. In a space that once housed showrooms for the most influential art dealers of their age, Dominique Lévy will extend its program of important curated exhibitions devoted to historical figures and living artists. The gallery also specializes in private sales in the secondary market; produces original scholarship and significant publications; provides advisory and collection management services; and participates in art fairs internationally.

Dominique Lévy London will be under the direction of Lock Kresler, Senior Director Europe, who formerly served as Christie’s Director and Head of the Private Sales Department for Post-War & Contemporary Art. Working closely with Mr. Kresler is Eloise Margoline, Associate Director Europe.

Lock Kresler comes to Dominique Lévy from Christie’s, where he most recently served as Director and Head of the Private Sales Department for Post-War & Contemporary Art for the auction house in London. In an expanded role, he was responsible for Private Sales of Post-War & Contemporary Art in Europe, and worked actively on consignments for the Post-War & Contemporary Art auctions worldwide. Kresler began his career at Christie’s in 2004 in the Trusts, Estates & Appraisals department and in 2006 joined the New York Post-War & Contemporary Art department as a Specialist. In 2008, he moved to London as Co-Head of the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Auctions. As part of the London team he secured consignments for auction that achieved some of the highest Post-War and Contemporary Art auction records in the history of the house. Kresler curated House of Cards at Waddesdon Manor and Pop Goes Britain: British Pop Art in the 1950's and 1960's. He is also admired as a charity auctioneer, having recently raised over $1,300,000 for the Gumball 3000 Foundation. Kresler holds a Bachelor of the Arts Degree in Museum Studies and a Bachelor of the Arts Degree in Business from Arizona State University.

Educated at New York University and the University of Paris I, Sorbonne, Eloise Margoline has spent the past decade serving foremost collectors of modern and contemporary art at L&M Arts New York and, more recently, Almine Rech, Paris/Brussels. Ms. Margoline became an independent consultant and advisor since 2013, with special expertise in contemporary art and emerging artists. At Dominique Lévy London, she will serve as Associate Director.
