LOS ANGELES, CA.- The LA Art Show, the largest and most successful platform for contemporary and traditional art in the West, will celebrate its 20th anniversary at the upcoming January 14-18 2015 edition. Taking place at the world-class Los Angeles Convention Center, the show will build upon the success of the 2014 event, which closed with attendance topping 50,000 and participating galleries reporting sales into the millions. The 2015 LA Art Show will showcase an ever-growing component of international galleries. A strong focus of the show, international gallery space for Korea, China, The United Arab Emirates and Japan has reached capacity.

“One of our greatest strengths is that we cater our show to collectors, who grow and change their collecting interest. At the LA Art Show, there is an opportunity to discover and explore many genres. We continue to buck the trend of more niche oriented art fairs. I think this is why we have continued to thrive so strongly for the last two decades. Our format resonates with Angelenos which is why we have been so successful in a market that has eluded so many others,” states Show Producer Kim Martindale.

Sparking global art trends, The LA Art Show has become a stomping ground for established artists, and launching pad for emerging talent showcasing what’s now and next in art. The LA Art Show was the first art fair to feature an exhibition of graffiti and street art, launching an international trend that catapulted the genre into the fine art world. The show has also showcased curated exhibitions by art world luminaries including: Nick Cave, Suzanne Lacy, Shepard Fairey, Lee Yong Baek, Choi Jeung Hwa, Cindy Jackson and others. The 2015 event will feature groundbreaking special exhibits to be announced shortly.

Embraced by critics from leading arts publications and news outlets including the Los Angeles Times, Juxtapoz, Hi-Fructose, KCET, KPCC, Art Daily, NBC Los Angeles, The Huffington Post, Fine Art Connoisseur, The Art Newspaper and others, the LA Art Show has been praised for its distinctive ‘fair-within-a-fair’ model. As one gallerist states, “the diversity of the art attracts a diversity of collectors which benefits us all.” The show features two sections in the 180,000 square foot exhibit hall: A Modern & Contemporary Section and Historic & Traditional Contemporary Section. Each section is carefully honed to meet the needs of serious collectors and allows galleries the opportunity to connect with like-minded collectors. Within the show, galleries can maximize exposure and showcase their works outside of their booths through select communal spaces such as the VIP lounge as well as additional lounge spaces on the show floor.
