LENOX, MASS.- Sienna Patti presents the latest work by internationally renowned jewelry artist Daniel Kruger. The exhibition will be on view at Sienna Gallery August 23 through September 28.

South African born artist Daniel Kruger has been making jewelry for over forty years, and is considered one of the leading artists and innovators in the field. Balancing mathematical grids and organic forms, hard and soft surfaces, symmetry and chaos, Kruger focuses on sensual cognition to create pieces that have a distinct erotic quality. With this most recent work, Kruger experiments with contrasting texture and bold color, and the passage of light through transparent materials and tessellating patterns.

Daniel Kruger currently lives in Germany, where he is a professor at the University for Art and Design in Halle. Kruger’s work has been exhibited in galleries and museums internationally, and his contribution to contemporary jewelry recognized with awards and distinctions worldwide. A recent recipient of the prestigious Herbert Hofmann Prize, his work can be seen in renowned public collections including the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, New York; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Musee des Arts Decoratifs, Montreal; Pforzheim Schmuckmuseum im Reuchlinhaus, Germany; Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Montreal; Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich Germany; The Hiko Mizuno College of Jewelry, Tokyo; and The Power House Museum, Sydney. Kruger is the subject of the recent monograph Daniel Kruger: Between Nature and Artifice, published by Arnoldsche and in November 2014 Daniel Kruger’s retrospective, Between Nature and Artifice will begin a multi-year museum tour.

Both the opening reception and Kruger’s lecture and book signing event are free and open to the public. Sienna Patti Contemporary is located at 80 Main Street and is open Wednesdays through Saturdays 11am to 5pm, and Sundays through Tuesdays 11am to 3pm, or by appointment by calling 413-637-8386.
