AMSTERDAM.- From Thursday 18 until and including Sunday 21 September, the third edition of the yearly art fair for gouaches, aquarelles, charcoal, pen and ink on paper takes place in Amsterdam. Amsterdam Drawing is the place for young talents and for (inter)national established artists to meet and expose. The location is the same as last year: a temporary pavilion on the NDSM-werf in Amsterdam-Noord. Fifty national and international galleries from eight different countries are participating in Amsterdam Drawing 2014. The organizers are Francis Boeske and Hans Gieles from gallery VOUS ETES ICI, which is situated as well on the NDSM-werf.

An intimate atmosphere and affordable artworks
For many artists, paper is the most ideal and preferable choice of medium. Works on paper have a personal, spontaneous and at the same time an intimate character. With its rich variety of original paintings, drawings and collages on paper, Amsterdam Drawing provides an intimate character for the visitors. A clear floor plan leads them along small cabinets with surprising presentations, all beautifully lightened by the semi-transparent roof of the pavilion. Artworks on paper are more affordable then paintings and sculptures. For this reason not only do established collectors visit the art fair but novice art buyers as well. Very often artworks on paper are the beginning of a very special and personal collection.

Amsterdam Drawing 2012 & 2013
From the beginning Amsterdam Drawing has been a great success. Visitors are especially charmed and pleased by the dynamic and specific character of the art fair. National and international Press praise the consistent high quality and versatility of the artworks as well as the intimate atmosphere. A very well-known art connoisseur even described the previous editions as ‘a concert for chamber music’. Last year about 5.000 people visited the fair. The sale of the works exceeded expectations. It is therefore not a coincidence that the numbers of Ambassadors for Amsterdam Drawing such as museum directors, art collectors and art historians, who propagate the fair with great enthusiasm, is growing.
