NEW YORK, NY.- Kasher|Potamkin announces Gilded Forest, an exhibition of thirty-four multigenerational artists whose works embody the crispness of autumn and the richness of the holiday season. The show opened on Friday, November 7, 2014.

Gilded Forest, opening just in time for the holiday shopping season, is a forest filled with golden treasures of rotating art objects, jewelry and home goods. Photography, sculpture, furniture and ceramics showcased in an intimate, home-like environment also are on view for visitors to purchase and take home same day for themselves or anyone on their holiday shopping list. Curated with benevolence in mind, gift options are available between $400 and $14,000.

The unique and rare works in Gilded Forest expand on the definition of a giftable object with Jessica Joslin’s fantastical sculptures of magical forest creatures made of bone, brass, silver, antique hardware and leather along with Jennifer Trask’s adjustable chain made of rattlesnake ribs.

From jungjung’s crocheted macramé to Kataryna Borek’s handmade, wearable, headpiece sculptures made of goose eggs, wool and boxwood branches to Luke Stephenson’s photographs of show birds, Gilded Forest is an homage to the gathering, reaping and collecting that is synonymous with the harvest season.

Guests can also delight in Shae DeTar’s watercolor-painted photographs of young women in nature, covered in subtle earthy tones alongside T.W. Fryberger’s massive Dakota painting, which engulfs visitors in hues of ocher and maroon. Marianna Rothen’s photographic series, Hollie, provides a glimpse into a secluded cabin where a mysterious beauty washes dishes in the nude and smokes in the bathtub.

Gilded Forest is a magical forest of sparkling treasures to enjoy in the gallery and at home.

Participating artists include: Aneta Bartos, Su Blackwell, John Breed, Katarzyna Borek, Calico Wallpaper, Bex Cassie, Amanda Charchian, Cynthia Consentino, Shae DeTar, Renee Demsey, Delphine Diallo, Doug Fogelson, Scott Fortino, T.W. Fryberger, Wendy Given, John Gordon Gauld, Tim Hailand, Marie Hochhaus, Ashkan Honarvar, Mayumi Hosokura, Stefan Janoski, Nancy Josephson, Jessica Joslin, Jungjung, L’Enchanteur, Adrienne Landau, Shaun Leane, Won Lee, Olivia Locher, Beatrix Ost, Kelly McCallum, Lex Pott, Marianna Rothen, Amy Ross, Charlie Rubin, Stefan Rurak, Bruce Sherman, Vee Speers, Isabella Ståhl, Luke Stephenson, Savannah Stranger, The Haas Brothers, Jennifer Trask, Tuleste, Michaël Verheyden, Joshua Vogel, Michael Wilson, David Wiseman.

Kasher|Potamkin, a collaboration between Steven Kasher (Steven Kasher Gallery) and Andi Potamkin (Three Squares Studio), is a boutique-meets-gallery concept located in the heart of Chelsea at 515 West 26th Street in a 1,100-square-foot space with direct views to the High Line. Curated from floor to ceiling, Kasher|Potamkin presents handcrafted, rare objects, as well as unique works of art and design where aesthetics and craftsmanship are paramount. The inventory, largely created exclusively for Kasher|Potamkin, rotates regularly, allowing visitors to purchase items right off the wall to take home on the same day. The overall effect is one of accessibility, creating a shopping experience that is similar to perusing the extravagant home of a world-traveled collector. By situating works of art in an intimate, home-like environment, Kasher|Potamkin expands the conversation on how to integrate art and life.
