Capo Auction Fine Art and Antiques will offer a much sought after Warhol piece from the former personal collection of late dance legend Martha Graham at their Saturday, November 15th auction.
The Andy Warhol (American, 1928-1987) Martha Graham: Satyric Festival Song. Screenprint on Lenox museum board, 1986 is signed and numbered 4/100 (verso). Sheet size 36 x 36 inches. This piece was a gift from Warhol to Martha Graham, and was in the former collection of Martha Graham, while it is now in a private collection, acquired from Graham. It has a conservative estimated value of $25-35,000, but is expected to bring much more due to its provenance.
Also on November 15th, Capo Auction will feature a Konstantin Makovsky (Russian, 1839-1915) - Portrait of Young Woman. Oil on board. Signed (l.l.). This piece is unframed with a board size of 15 3/4 x 11 3/8 inches. The estimated value is $8-12,000m while they also have an attributed to Alexander Calder (Am, 1898-1976) - Untitled. Gouache on paper, 1974. Signed and dated (l.r.). Sight size 22 x 29 inches. This work is matted and framed and is also estimated at $8-12,000).
Another item of note is the bronze sculpture by Lena Cronqvist (Swedish, b. 1938) - Young Girl. 2000. Its signed , dated, and numbered AP 1/1 (near base). The height is 6 3/4 inches, and its estimated at $4-5,000. All items are available for bidding through www.LiveAuctioneers.com
