MIAMI BEACH, FL.- Yesterday,
PULSE Miami Beachs highly-anticipated opening at its new mid-Miami Beach location was met with strong sales and excitement from both exhibitors and guests, with over 2000 VIPs attending the 10th Anniversary Private Preview Brunch.
Miami Beach Mayor, Philip Levine, visited PULSE to welcome everyone to its new Indian Park Beach location and to celebrate Director Helen Toomers commitment to year-round engagement with the arts and culture community of the City of Miami Beach. The Mayor toured the fair with City Council members greeting exhibitors and artists and engaging with local Miami collectors who were delighted to see him in attendance.
The spacious new venues thoughtful sight lines, rigorous exhibitor and artist selection process, and commitment to fully integrated exhibitor categories successfully facilitated the discovery of new works by seasoned collectors and new visitors alike. Reputable and up-and-coming galleries were met with equal fanfare. De Soto Gallery, junior projects, and Zhulong Gallery, all young galleries from the IMPULSE category, reported extraordinary sales with little left to offer after the first day of the fair. Established galleries representing different programs reported strong sales with acquisitions from national museums, corporate collections and American and international collectors. Photographs by Enoc Perez of Danziger Gallery and Shahab Fotouhi of Shulamit Gallery were sold out before the end of the day. The ephemeral sculptures by Lauren Fensterstock and Susie Ganch presented by Sienna Patti Gallery were acquired by museum and corporate collections while at the same time securing a number of commissions. Long-time PULSE exhibitor Bryce Wolkowitz, applauded the opening, saying [This] was the best first day weve had at a fair, across the board.
