BRUSSELS.- Art Brussels announced the participants of its 33rd edition. The 2015 edition brings together 190 galleries from 33 countries, represented in three main sections: PRIME (88 galleries presenting established artists), YOUNG (88 galleries presenting emerging artists) and a new section, DISCOVERY. The latter will feature 14 galleries representing lesser known and emerging artists, whose work is not yet known to a wider public. DISCOVERY is selected by a committee of international curators including, Daria de Beauvais | Curator, Palais de Tokyo (Paris), Chris Fitzpatrick | currently Director, Objectif Exhibitions (Antwerp) and Director of Kunstverein Munich (as of 2015), Nathalie Hartjes | Artistic Director, Nieuwe Vide (Haarlem) and coordinator of the Gallerist Programme at De Appel Arts Centre (Amsterdam), Johan Holten | Director of the Staatliche Kunsthalle (Baden-Baden), and curator Katerina Gregos, Artistic Director of Art Brussels. As always, Art Brussels also places emphasis on the individual presentation of artists with 30 galleries presenting SOLO projects.

Art Brussels thus continues to maintain its profile as a fair that brings together emerging artists and galleries with more established ones. At the same time it continues to reinforce and build upon its identity as a ‘discovery fair’ and the place where one can identify emerging artists at the beginning of their careers. For 2015 the International Committee has selected 28% newcomers. There has also been a notable increase in upcoming galleries from the United States, which represents 10% of the exhibiting galleries.

Art Brussels counts on the continuous support of its main partner, ING.

Organizers look forward to welcoming you to Art Brussels 2015, and to Europe’s most up-and-coming contemporary art city.
