LOS ANGELES, CA.- The J. Paul Getty Trust announced the appointment of Janet Feldstein McKillop as Vice President for Development. Ms. McKillop has served as Director of Development and Alumni Relations at St. Matthew’s Parish School in Pacific Palisades, California, since 2008. At St. Matthew’s she built out the school’s first professional development department and led the school through a transformative endowment campaign.

Ms. McKillop brings broad experience in fundraising for educational institutions, as well as a background in business and finance. Prior to her tenure at St. Matthew’s, she was Associate Director of Major Gifts at Stanford University, where she was the lead Los Angeles-based fundraiser and part of the team that raised $6.2 billion in The Stanford Challenge campaign. Before that, she served as Senior Associate Director for Major Gifts at Harvard University and as a research associate at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. She began her career as an investment banker with J.P. Morgan & Company.

Ms. McKillop received her M.B.A. at Stanford, where she also earned her undergraduate degree in art history.

Reporting to President and CEO Jim Cuno, Ms. McKillop will be responsible for leading the efforts to cultivate support from individuals, foundations and corporations for programs conducted by the Getty locally and internationally in support of the world’s visual arts and cultural heritage.

“I’m delighted to welcome Janet to the Getty to help us advance our good work in Los Angeles and around the world by deepening and broadening our community of support,” said Cuno.

“I look forward to building on the support the Getty has developed over the years, and generating new sources of funding and partnership. With its excellent collections, programs for conservation and art history, strength in scientific research, and tradition of philanthropic support, the Getty is without peer in in the world of arts organizations. It is an honor to join the Getty’s senior leadership team,” said Ms. McKillop, who joins the Getty in February 2015.
