SARASOTA, FLA.- Sarasota Sculpture Center announces its Inaugural Exhibition in its new headquarters at Alfstad & Contemporary: Rubber, Metal & Stone, Small Works, Sculptures & Drawings up through February 2Oth.
The show features the sculpture, drawings and prints of internationally renowned artists, Chakaia Booker of the United States, Hans Van de Bovenkamp of the Netherlands and Boaz Vaadia of Israel.
Sarasota Sculpture Center [formerly Season of Sculpture] is best known for the exciting and well-respected six month biennials of large-scale sculptures by local, national and internationally recognized artists which have been featured along the Sarasota Bayfront over the last fourteen years, and will continue.
With Rubber, Metal & Stone Sarasota Sculpture Center kicks off its new, expanded mission. In addition to the Bayfront large-scale sculpture biennials and small works gallery exhibitions, visitors will learn that the organization plans to build on its existing reputation, and grow a regional influence on public art through symposia, lectures, video presentations of artists at work, outdoor installations in multiple venues and traveling shows. Collectors and developers can also visit Sarasota Sculpture Center to commission site-specific sculpture.
Rubber, Metal & Stone, Small Works, Sculptures & Drawings is presented at Alfstad& Contemporary, located at 1419 5th Street, Sarasota, Florida. Gallery hours are Tues.-Sat 11-5.
