BRISBANE.- Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art Director Chris Saines today announced the appointment of Tarragh Cunningham to the role of Assistant Director, Development and Commercial Services.

‘Tarragh Cunningham has excelled as the Gallery’s Exhibitions Manager since 2008 and it’s my great pleasure to welcome her to the executive management team with responsibility for audience attraction, retention and development, as well as our self-managed commercial services,’ Mr Saines said.

Tarragh will lead the marketing, communication, digital engagement, and brand and tourism strategies, as well as the sponsorship and grant body partnerships programs and retail, catering and events services.

‘Tarragh’s proven ability to lead a high-performing team and her record of success in driving growth while managing organisational change make her an outstanding candidate to complete the Gallery’s new, four-person executive management team,’ Mr Saines said.

‘Her deep involvement and knowledge of almost every aspect of QAGOMA’s operations, including her management of two exhibitions in the Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art series, and her broader history of experience in the art museum sector nationally, will make an invaluable contribution to the Gallery’s future direction,’ he said.

From 2003–08, Ms Cunningham was Exhibitions Manager at the National Gallery of Victoria, where she had also held roles in various departments including Marketing and Development since 1996. She completed the Asialink Leaders Program in 2013 and the Museums Leadership program in 2005.

Ms Cunningham’s joins QAGOMA’s executive management team alongside Director Chris Saines, Deputy Director of Collection and Exhibitions Maud Page, Assistant Director of Operations and Governance Adam Lindsay and Assistant Director of Learning and Public Engagement Simon Wright.
