SAN FRANCISCO, CA.- On May 18 at Bonhams, connoisseurs will be given the opportunity to bid on items from noted West Coast collections of French, English, Continental and Asian furniture, decorative arts and paintings. The unique, chic and elegant will all highlight this special event.

Included in this venue will be a very refined collection of bronze sculptures from the collection of Dr. Susan R.D., and a superb and rare early 18th century commode by Moudon (est. $10,000-15,000) from the collection of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.

There will also be a truly amazing 19th century Louis XVI style gilt bronze and marquetry Gaveau piano (est. $90,000-120,000) from a West Coast collection, originally made for a purveyor in Buenos Aires; a pair of 19th century Italian imposing busts of Ferdinand and Isabella (est. $28,000-50,000); and a truly elegant and finely painted pair of 19th century Sevres style jardinieres (est. $20,000-30,000).

More than 500 curated objects of desire will be included in this sale - making it one of the most diverse, interesting and enticing Collector’s Cabinets to come on the market. Everything from the Napoleonic era to the Renaissance to the glory of the Belle Epoque will be featured.

The vice president and director of Bonhams’ Furniture and Decorative Arts Department in the U.S., Jeffrey Smith, commented of the sale, “The exotic, unusual and beautiful will entice collectors, connoisseurs and hipsters alike to this fantastic Collector’s Cabinet auction in Bonhams’ San Francisco galleries.”
