BEVERLY HILLS, CA.- Julien’s Auctions, the auction house to the stars, announces Property from the Life and Career of Sid and Florence Caesar. The collection, which will be featured in the highly-anticipated Julien’s Auctions Hollywood Legends event in Beverly Hills on June 26 and 27, 2015, includes an array of personal effects from the late comedian and actor’s Los Angeles estate in Trousdale, career memorabilia, fine art and fine jewelry.

Ground-breaking comedian Sid Caesar was a two-time Emmy Award winner who broke comedic ground with partner Imogene Coca with a 90-minute live program in the 1950s called “Your Show of Shows.” The show was an immediate success and was to become one of the most influential programs in TV’s golden era, launching the careers of many. Caesar performed for six decades in movies and television and is considered by fellow luminaries to be one of the all-time best in the business.

Carl Reiner has been quoted as saying that Caesar has the ability to “connect with an audience and make them roar with laughter.”

Caesar’s beloved wife Florence whom he married in 1943 had a stunning collection of jewels that will also be featured in the sale. Among them are a Cartier diamond necklace (Estimate: $12,000-$18,000), a spectacular diamond pendant (Estimate: $32,000-$38,000), a Princess cut emerald and diamond ring, (Estimate: $15,000-$20,000), and a pear shaped diamond engagement ring (Estimate: $30,000-$40,000). The collection of jewelry includes amazing pieces from an era gone by.

Fine art highlights from the estate include a Marino Marini small bronze Horse and Rider, prints by Pablo Picasso (Estimate: $8,000-$10,000) and Georges Rouault (Estimate: $1,000-$2,000), an original drawing by Tony Bennett (Estimate: $1,000-$2,000) and works by other mid-century artists such as Elisée Maclet (Various Estimates ranging from $1,500-$2,500), Henry Kallem (Various Estimates ranging from $1,200-$1,800), and a landscape by Jean Eve (Estimate: $1,500-$2,500) along with many other artworks. Both Sid and Florence Caesar also enjoyed painting. Many original pieces of art created by each of them will also be offered (various estimates ranging from $800-$1200).

As collectors of fine antiques and unique vintage items, the Caesers decorated their estate with taste, style and a bit of eclectic flavor. Items from their home include antique and vintage furnishings from the 19th century to mid-century modern. Some of these highlights include a Louis XV style Steinway Grand piano (Estimate: $8,000-$10,000), a throwback oval Formica accent table (Estimate: $300-$500), Vintage Lobed ceramic lamps (Estimate: $800-$1,200), a monogrammed Rosenthal dinnerware set of china (Estimate: $2,000-$4,000), and a group of Tiffany sterling hollowware (Various Estimates ranging from $600-$800).

Featured memorabilia from Sid Caesar’s long career include the military costume from the famous Caesar’s Hour German General skit (Estimate: $1,500-$3,000), various awards such as his Television Academy Hall of Fame Award (Estimate: $1,000-$2,000), plus scripts and performance plaques commemorating his appearance on a variety of programs and much more.

Other auction highlights from Caesar’s sportsman passions include an Olympian Bolt action rifle (Estimate: $4,000-$6,000), a Mauser Bolt action rifle (Estimate: $1,500-$3,000) and an antique Flintrock rifle (Estimate: $1,000-1,500), a number of sets of Caesar’s golf clubs (Various Estimates ranging from $600-$800), and a large collection of cigars and cigar paraphernalia (Various Estimates ranging from $1,000-$2,000).
