Judge Jerome A. Holmes named new Chairman of the OKCMOA Board of Trustees
Judge Holmes sits on the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.



OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA.- The Oklahoma City Museum of Art Board of Trustees announces the appointment of Judge Jerome A. Holmes as chairman. Frank W. Merrick, is the outgoing Board chair.

"I am gratified and honored to serve the Oklahoma City Museum of Art as Board chair, especially at this exciting time in the history of Oklahoma City," said Judge Holmes. "A key aspect of Oklahoma City's ongoing renaissance is the growth and development of a strong and vibrant artistic community. OKCMOA strives to be a cooperative leader and pacesetter in that artistic community and is blessed with an outstanding Board and staff."

"The Oklahoma City Museum of Art has a long-standing tradition of exceptional Board leadership. We are fortunate to have Judge Holmes at the Museum's helm at this time of artistic growth and community engagement," said President and CEO E. Michael Whittington. "We are also deeply grateful to outgoing Board chair Frank Merrick for his outstanding leadership and wisdom. I am especially indebted to his guidance during my tenure as President and CEO.

Judge Holmes sits on the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He earned his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as editor-in-chief of the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal. He earned his undergraduate degree, cum laude, in history from Wake Forest University and a master's degree in public administration from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government, where he was a John B. Pickett Fellow in criminal justice policy and management.

Judge Holmes has been a committed volunteer and leader in community affairs. He currently serves on the governing boards of several nonprofits, including the Rotary Club of Oklahoma City (Club 29), where he is immediate past president; and the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, where he serves on a number of committees, including the executive committee. Judge Holmes formerly served as vice chair of the Board of Directors of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oklahoma. He is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma City (Class XX) and Leadership Oklahoma (Class XVIII).

The 2015-16 OKCMOA officers for the Board of Trustees are: Chairman, Judge Jerome A. Holmes; Chairman-Elect, J. Edward Barth; Immediate Past Chairman, Frank W. Merrick; Treasurer, Hal Brown; Secretary. Vice-Chairs are: John R. Bozalis, M.D., Elby J. Beal, Beter B. Delaney, Suzette Hatfield, Frank D. Hill, Leslie S. Hudson, Duke R. Ligon, Penny McCaleb, Virginia A. Meade, and Caroline Patton.
