NEW YORK, NY.- Peter Blum announces a summer exhibition of books and prints published by Peter Blum Edition at 20 West 57th Street, New York. The exhibition runs through Friday, July 31st.
Peter Blum has collaborated with a wide range of artists as a publisher since 1981. Peter Blum Edition has since published important prints and portfolios by John Baldessari, Louise Bourgeois, Tacita Dean, Eric Fischl, Alfredo Jaar, Alex Katz, Barbara Kruger, Sherrie Levine, Brice Marden, James Turrell, and Luc Tuymans among others.
Alongside publishing print editions, Peter Blum began to produce limited edition books in 1984 with artists such as Huma Bhabha, Helmut Federle, Eric Fischl, Herzog & de Meuron, Chris Marker, Robert Ryman, and John Zurier, among others. Many of the books are collaborations with several notable writers, including Edward Albee, Robert Creeley, Bice Curiger, E.L. Doctorow, Erich Franz, Vincent Katz, Donald Kuspit, Arthur Miller, and Robert Storr, who contributed texts, poems, and short stories.
In addition to the books, the exhibition features a small selection of prints from Huma Bhabha, Helmut Federle, General Idea, Alex Katz and Yukinori Yanagi by Peter Blum Edition. The editions are included in major museum collections such as MoMA, New York, the New York Public Library, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, the Museum of Fine arts, Boston, the Tate Gallery, London, the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, Kunsthaus Zürich, and the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Denmark.
