TORONTO.- Marking an exciting expansion in Canada's thriving art market, beginning in the fall of 2015, Heffel Fine Art Auction House will welcome Post-War & Contemporary art from around the world for its semi-annual live ballroom sales. Recognizing the international interest for important contemporary works of art, Heffel's catalogue will, from this point forward, be globally inclusive.

Renowned contemporary artists such as Jean Paul Riopelle, Paul-Émile Borduas, Jack Bush, Alex Colville and Jeff Wall are among the many Canadian-born artists whose works are admired and purchased around the world, and exhibited alongside their international counterparts. Moreover, Heffel has seen phenomenal success in its semi-annual international online auctions, proving further that buyers are eager for a broader range of artworks from contemporary artists.

Heffel is thrilled to share news of an important consignment confirmed for the fall Post-War & Contemporary catalogue - Barbara Hepworth's spectacular sculpture, Three Forms (Three Horizontal Curves) (est. $200,000 - 300,000). Proceeds from the sale of this work will benefit the Montreal Children's Hospital. This renowned British artist's work is currently being celebrated in a retrospective at the Tate Britain in London, England until the fall of this year.

Heffel was the first, and remains the only auction house in Canada to produce separate detailed catalogues for each of its two live auction sessions; Post-War & Contemporary Art and Fine Canadian Art. Heffel's semi-annual live auctions will maintain a focus on Canadian art, as the Fine Canadian Art session will continue to offer historical works by Canadian artists exclusively.

The two-part fall 2015 live auction will take place in Toronto on Thursday, November 26 at the Park Hyatt hotel. The full catalogue will be printed and published online in the weeks leading up to the sale.
