Antonio Jacobsen (Danish-American, 1850-1921), full clipper ship, oil on artist board, signed and dated 1918, in original frame, 11 3/4" h x 22 3/4" w (view), 15" h x 26" w (frame).



BEVERLY, MA.- Kaminski Auctions August 23rd sale presents several outstanding fine art entries, porcelain from a New Hampshire collection, a Louis Vuitton trunk and a pair of outstanding Italian mirrors.

Nautical themed art in the sale includes an Antonio Jacobsen (Danish-American, 1850-1921), full clipper ship, oil on artist board, signed and dated 1918, in it’s original frame valued at $6,000-$9,000 and a C. Myron Clark (American, 1858-1925), British ship chasing the frigate Constitution, oil on canvas both from a California estate.

Cape Ann art collectors will not want to miss an Aldro Hibbard (American, 1886-1972), painting depicting the Universalist church on Cleaves Street in Rockport, MA, oil on board, signed lower left, dated 5-18-24 verso and valued at $4,000-$6,000.

There is also a Dutch winter scene by Louis Apol (Dutch, 1850-1936), oil on panel, signed lower left, from a Massachusetts estate.

The Louis Vuitton trunk in the sale is presented with a red London label # 133397 inside, "149 New Bond Street," monogrammed 'CSP, and measures ' 28" h x 48" l x 24" w It is valued at $2,000-$4,000.

Silver in the sale includes a set of Tiffany and Company "Ailanthus-Atlantas" sterling flatware, a set of Gorham "King Albert" sterling flatware, a Reed & Barton sterling silver flatware set, in the "Silver Sculpture" pattern and also a Gorham sterling silver four-piece tea set, hand chased, with coordinating Gorham silver plate tray.

A collection of porcelain from a New Hampshire estate includes presentation size figural groups of Lladro including "At the Stroke of 12," figural group #1493, edition of 1500, sculpted by Jose Rios, and decorated by J. Ruiz, measuring 12" in height by 26 1/2" wide. and "Return to La Mancha" figural group, model #1580, edition of 500, sculpted and decorated by Salvado Furio and Vincente Navarro, measuring 13" high by 37"inches long. Royal Crown Derby “Royal Antoinette” porcelain, Boehme, Herend and Walt Disney’s Capodemonte figural groups are highlights of the life long collection.

A very decorative pair of Italian mirrors with oil paintings depicting buildings in a landscape, and gilt decoration with faux-marble columns, several fine oriental rugs including a mahal Persian carpet, a 19th century Bellamy gilt eagle and a large Venetian chandelier are some of the other highlights of the sale.

Asian items include a Chinese Ming dynasty altar, Chinese celadon plates, and Chinese famille verte porcelain.
