ZURICH.- Bonhams announces the appointment of Swiss national Andrea Bodmer as the company’s first ever regional representative in Zurich. Andrea starts in her post with immediate effect.

The appointment of Andrea, who is originally from Zurich, reinforces Bonhams' team in Switzerland and marks the company’s continued growth in Europe after the successful establishment of their regional office in Geneva in 2013.

After a training in law, Andrea studied Art and Business in London. She moved into the art industry with an international auction house in 2013, where she worked from London for the German and Austrian teams in client services and business initiatives. She has worked with Bonhams in London since April.

Andrea is looking forward to introducing young collectors and other new audiences to Bonhams. As her engagement with the industry continues to grow, she compares art to a language: “the more you understand, the more you appreciate it”.

Andrea, who speaks English, French and German, values an international approach. After studying at the Sorbonne, the University of Zurich and the University of Geneva, she worked for the Consulate General of Switzerland in New York and a law firm in Zurich.
