David Risley Gallery acquires Funkisfabriken to develop as a creative centre in Southern Sweden
Funkisfabriken, Diö, Småland, Sweden.



COPENHAGEN.- David Risley Gallery announced that it is the new owners of Funkisfabriken, Diö (near Älmhult), Småland, Sweden. Together with Colin Graham, they have acquired this beautiful, historic building to develop as a creative centre in Southern Sweden.

Funkisfabriken is around 12,000m2 (120,000 sq ft) and was built as a furniture factory by Gemla in 1929.

David Risley Gallery is looking forward to working with the current tenants and has plans to develop new studios, establish artists residencies, exhibition space, apartments and create events including food, music, design and art. The space is also available to rent for photo and film shoots, conferences and other events.

The building currently houses a variety of artists, designers, craftspeople, photographers, framers, sign makers, antique dealers etc. The building has flexible spaces large and small available to rent, short and long term. Funkisfabriken is 2.5 hours by car from Copenhagen. 2 hours from Malmö. The train station recently reopened and a train runs regularly from Älmhult which takes 5 minutes. Älmhult is on the main line between Copenhagen and Stockholm.
