VIENNA.- The Franz West Privatstiftung announced that a catalogue raisonné of the complete works of Franz West is currently being prepared.
The Franz West Privatstiftung was founded by Franz West in 2012 with the aim of preserving, maintaining, and further disseminating his artistic legacy. His work is to be presented to the public through exhibitions, loans, publications, research papers, and symposia.
The first of several volumes in this academic catalogue raisonné is devoted to Franz West's outdoor sculptures.
The academic basis for the project is provided by the archive of the Franz West Privatstiftung. The archive oversees a comprehensive database, a library, a video library, and a poster collection. It supports research and artistic projects and is charged with completely cataloging all of Franz West's work as well as providing for the academic appraisal of the individual bodies of work.
Collectors, museums, and galleries in possession of outdoor sculptures by Franz West who have not previously been in contact with the Franz West Privatstiftung are invited to contact them. All information will be treated with discretion and anonymity will be assured if so desired.
