WEST PALM BEACH, FLA.- Billed as the nation’s largest outdoor museum show, CANVAS is underway in West Palm Beach. Artists from across the globe are hard at work creating 20 dramatic, inspiring installations and murals on selected buildings and infrastructure throughout the downtown district, plus underneath the bridge to Palm Beach. The two-week experience will run through Nov. 22, and the public is invited to watch this monumental show come to life.

“The idea behind CANVAS is to captivate the imagination and ignite both ideas and inspiration by bringing public art to the forefront of our collective consciousness here in West Palm Beach,” said CANVAS founder and West Palm Beach-based gallerist, Nicole Henry. “This amazing city has not yet fully realized its tremendous potential to become an arts and cultural hub. Our CANVAS team is very excited to advance that destiny and see the eye-opening effects of our installations.”

World-renowned artists participating in CANVAS include 2Alas; Bik-Ismo; Case; Cheryl Maeder; Greg Mike; Herakut; Jean-Luc Moerman; Jeremy Penn; José Bedia; Kai; Katja Loher; Kobra; Michael Dweck; Pastel; Registered Artist; Ron English; Sean Yoro (aka Hula); WRDSMTH; Zeus. A map of the exhibit locations can be found at canvaswpb.org or by clicking here. In addition to the public art exhibits around the city, unique sculptures and 3D installations will be on display at the VIP Lounge behind Henry’s gallery located at 501 Fern St.

Visitors of CANVAS are encouraged to download the free CANVAS App from the Apple or Android stores and vote for their favorite mural or installation. The artist with the most votes via the app will be announced during the CANVAS Closing Brunch on Nov. 22 taking place at the VIP Lounge. The winner will receive an artist residency and studio space to create an installation at Downtown Abacoa in Jupiter.

CANVAS will be augmented by a series of free and ticketed events, including a New York City-style fashion presentation in the VIP Lounge that’s being described as a fusion of fashion and art followed by a premier live freestyle art experience. All proceeds from the ticketed events will benefit CANVAS Art Charities, a non-profit organization dedicated to funding visual arts to enrich public spaces and foster social and economic outcomes.
