New auction record set for Hong Kong photographer Ho Fan

HONG KONG.- Bonhams Hong Kong’s inaugural sale of Prints, Photographs And Works On Paper today was led by , an important vintage gelatin silver print (signed on the reverse) taken in 1954 by celebrated Hong Kong photographer Ho Fan , which realized HK$ 375,000 - a new auction record set for the artist.

Additional top prices were achieved for:

• Yoshitomo Nara's (sold for HK$ 350,000)
• Damien Hirst’s (sold for HK$ 262,500)
• Damien Hirst’s (sold for HK$ 250,000)
• Yoshitomo Nara's (sold for HK$ 250,000)
• KAWS’s (sold for HK$ 212,500)

Charlotte Nunn, Specialist and Head of Sale, commented: “As the new collector base continues to grow in Asia, the demand for technically rich and diverse mediums such as prints, photographs and works on paper is certainly increasing. We are glad to see many new faces in the auction room today who may not necessarily have bought at auction before but are keen to buy work by internationally renowned artists at affordable prices.
