OAKLAND, CA.- Clars December 2015 sale of Fine Art, Decorative, Jewelry and Asian Art sale will feature numerous important offerings spanning important fine art, dazzling diamonds, historic collections and even Harley-Davidson motorcycles as they close the calendar years with special style.

Fine Art
Clars will be featuring an extraordinary print by Roy Lichtenstein (American, 1923-1997) titled, "Nude Reading,” on Sunday, December 13th. This beautiful relief print in colors from the Nude Series from 1994 will be offered for $80,000 to $120,000.

Another highlight, just in time for the holiday season, will be a large collection of 100+ vintage, psychedelic Rock posters including many first editions from “The Family Dog” and “Bill Graham Presents.” For those wanting even more nostalgia from the past, many vintage Magic and Travel posters will be available.

Jewelry and Timepieces
Jewelry and timepieces have a number of special offerings coming to the sale. A very special collection of watches will include makers such as Vacheron & Constantin, Panerai, Rolex, Breitling and Omega. In addition, a gentlemen’s Patek Philippe Neptune stainless steel wristwatch will be offered for $6,000 to $9,000.

To brighten up the shortest daylight month of the year will be a stunning marquise brilliant diamond (3.01 cts.) and 14k yellow gold Pendant necklace that is expected to shine at $18,000 to $25,000. An Art Deco jadeite, diamond and platinum ring would stuff a stocking nicely for $4,000 to $6,000. And the continuation of a large collection of stickpins will also be offered. The first offering of this collection in November brought very strong prices.

Asian Art and Antiques
The Asian offering will be particularly strong this month with a Chinese gilt bronze bodhisattva, Ming dynasty, Maitreya in dharmachackra mudra seated on a lotus pedestal, that will be offered for $12,000 to $15,000. Also, two Chinese polychrome wood carvings of luohan, featuring the young luohan Ananda and the elderly Kashyapa each standing on a lotus pedestal, are estimated to fetch $12,000 to $16,000. Chinese hardwood official’s hat armchairs, offered in pairs, come to the sale with an estimate of $5,000 to $7,000 each and a collection of Chinese paintings, including scrolls and fans, from a Bay Area estate, including a box of seven fan paintings will be offered for $1,500 to $2,500. Rounding out the Asian offerings will be a selection of Chinese porcelain, including a pair of dishes finely enameled with green orchids, the recessed base with a Daoguang mark.

Decorative Arts & Furnishings
Historic property from the Christian deGuigné IV Collection will be offered. Of note will be a Will and Finck faro folding case keeper card counter that will attract the attention of Western and specialty collectors. Clars holds the world record for the highest price achieved on a faro dealing box when it sold for $20,230 in March 2013.

An extensive collection of fine art glass, including mid-century examples by makers including Vanini will be offered. Furthering this period will be furniture by mid-century design icons such as Arne Jacobsen, Paul McCobb and Finn Juhl.

In musical instruments will be an impressive 1916 Steinway and Sons, New York, Model B grand piano, that will be offered for $10,000-15,000.

And in instruments with attitude for the road will be two beautiful big bikes – Harley-Davidsons, in fact. The first, estimated at $15,000 to $25,000, is a 2005 Harley FLTRI Road Glide Custom followed by a very cool 1998 Model Fat Boy Soft Tail that will be offered for $6,000 to $9,000.
