LOS ANGELES, CA.- After thoughtful consideration by its selection committee, stARTup Art Fair Los Angeles is pleased to announce its 2016 exhibitors. Representing multiple mediums from 8 states, 11 returning artists from stARTup’s San Francisco edition, and female artists outnumbering male artists 3:2, the fair will be presenting a total of 45 artists over the course of three days, from January 29 through January 31, 2016.

After an extremely well-received response from exhibitors and attendees of stARTup Art Fair San Francisco, the fair for independent artists is excited to travel to Los Angeles for its second iteration. stARTup will be transforming the Highland Gardens Hotel, a charming Hollywood mainstay, to create an immersive contemporary art experience through the exhibition of work by a diverse group of carefully selected artists.

Artists were selected through a democratic, online application process by a respected committee of diverse art world professionals, including: Kim Abeles, Los Angeles-based cross disciplinary artist; Dan Cameron, former Chief Curator, Orange County Museum of Art; Andi Campognone, Director/Curator, Lancaster Museum of Art & History; Christine Duval, independent Curator and Advisor, Principal, Duval Contemporary; Peter Mays, Executive Director, Los Angeles Art Association; Hillary Metz, Founder, Blythe Projects; William Powhida, Brooklyn-based artist, critic and teacher.
