Bonhams and Nazmiyal Collection launch antique and vintage rug auction
A Zeigler Sultanabad carpet from the Estate of Sigmund Freud. Central Persia size approximately 12ft. 9in. x 16ft. 7in. US$ 80,000 - 120,000. The Ziegler carpet offered here was housed in the dining room of Sigmund Freud's home, 20 Maresfield Gardens, in Hampstead, London.



NEW YORK, NY.- For the first time ever, Bonhams Auction House and Nazmiyal Collection - the global source for antique rugs, are joining forces to launch one of the most exciting antique and vintage rug auctions ever!

This iconic event will take place on April 4th, at the Bonhams NYC location and will include some of the rarest and most decorative pieces from Nazmiyal's coveted collection.

The April 4th sale will include early rugs such as a 17th century Persian vase carpet, a 16th century Cairene, an Early Mughal rug, and will also feature carpets by some of the most renown designers such as Josef Hoffmann, Emile Ruhlmann, Leleu and a beautiful arts and crafts Gavin Morton rug.

One of the highlights of this sale will undoubtedly be a rug that was personally owned by world renowned psychiatrist Sigmund Freud.

Rounding out this illustrious collection are the vintage Moroccan rugs, mid century modern Swedish carpets from Marta Mass Fjetterstorm, as well as Pop Art Tapestry rugs by one of the most important artist of the 20th century - Roy Lichtenstein.

This comprehensive offering and one time only price points are sure to entice and attract some of the most discerning dealers, collectors, private consumers and designers from all over the world.
