H&H Classics make four new appointments to build on its success
Ivan Macquisten: who has been working with H&H Classics for some months, former Editor of the Antiques Trade Gazette, for the past 15 years is now an art market analyst, pundit and lobbyist, and will work as a Consultant on New Business Development at H&H.



LONDON.- Simon Hope Chairman of H&H Classics today announces four new appointments to bolster the company’s dynamic sales, marketing and new business development team.

Simon Hope, who has led this change, comments: “After 23 years of steady growth which has seen H&H become one of the most trusted and recognised names in the Classic Car industry, we are capitalising on that achievement by investing in some of the best people in the classic car and auction worlds. Our current team is massively talented but these new appointments will help take us to new levels and new markets and help embed our success for the future. They will ensure that when we tell clients that we can compete at the top level they will know we mean just that.

The new arrivals will work closely with Chairman Simon Hope as he directs this next phase of development with new Managing Director, Dominic Lyncker, who will continue to be helped by Damian Jones, Auction Sales Manager and George Beale, Motorcycle Director and their respective teams, who have taken the H&H Classics brand global.

The new appointments are:

Dominic Lyncker: joins H&H Classics on June 1st as Managing Director. He started his career at Mercedes-Benz, and moved through various leading sales and marketing positions within the automotive and sports environment. In recent years he has held senior management positions at Volkswagen Group China and Porsche Germany. He is currently Head of Group Sport Cars, Motorsport and Car Culture at Volkswagen Group China and is responsible for all linked, cross-branded activity within Volkswagen Group China's sports car brands - VW, Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini and Porsche. His brief is to support a growing sports car culture and create additional sales and communication opportunities for all participating brands. Dominic is an appointed board member of the Federation of Classic Cars China and is a true classic and sports car enthusiast himself, as well as passionate motorbike rider.

Liam Cardiff: joins the Board as a Director. He is well respected and experienced in Corporate Finance and in the City. He works primarily with SMEs and helps develop these businesses in partnership with his many connections to private banks, funding and equity providers. His other appointments include: Chairman of NUA which targets investment opportunities for the Automotive sector; Director of Briard Beverages Ltd; Director of Beaumont Advisory; Co owner of Warren Golf Club; he is also the founder/organiser of the Warren Classic and Concours event; Co-Owner of Healey Sportscars; Director of JD Classics; and a Partner in Bean Partners Ltd.

Ivan Macquisten: who has been working with H&H Classics for some months, former Editor of the Antiques Trade Gazette, for the past 15 years is now an art market analyst, pundit and lobbyist, and will work as a Consultant on New Business Development at H&H. Ivan has spent 30 years as a journalist and business advisor and now runs ImacQ, his own business, media and public affairs consultancy. He is a regular columnist on the alternative asset potential of various aspects of the art market and has written for Spectator Business, Marks & Spencer Online Bank and Insight, the online investment magazine for wealth management specialist Brewin Dolphin. He is often quoted in the world’s leading media from the New York Times to the Daily Telegraph, The Spectator to the Sunday Times. Ivan led a Westminster lobbying campaign in which he successfully negotiated the extension of the transitional period for businesses to adapt to stringent new copyright regulations from six months to five years.

Julian Roup: who has also been working with H&H for some months, Press and Marketing Director for Bonhams for the past 12 years and as consultant before that from 1986, joins H&H as Consultant Press and Marketing Director. His experience covers marketing, journalism and Public Relations. His work for Christie’s Classic Car Department, then Brooks and then Bonhams over almost three decades have included the marketing of many iconic cars from the Bugatti Royale sold at the Royal Albert Hall in 1987 for £5.5m to the £20m Formula I winning Mercedes Benz driven to victory by Fangio in 1954, sold in 2013 at Goodwood. Previous clients have included Virgin Atlantic, the Government of Malta, the British Army, the Scouts Association, Black Horse Agencies and the Development Agency for the Western Cape in South Africa. He is the author of “A Day in the life of an MP’, Wayland, 1981; ‘A Fisherman in the Saddle’, Jacana, 2003; and ‘Boerejood’, Jacana, 2004. He has written for the FT and Country Life amongst others. He runs his own PR Consultancy Bendigo Communications with a range of art and auction clients.
