SOUTHAMPTON, NY.- Art Southampton, the seasons most acclaimed contemporary and modern art fair, will celebrate its fifth installment on the grounds of Nova's Ark Project (60 Millstone Road, Bridgehampton, NY) beginning July 7th and continuing through the 11th. Presented by Art Miami, this edition of the annual fair will feature over 70 prominent international galleries and showcase tens of millions of dollars worth of the finest museum quality art, sculpture, and photography from the 20th and 21st centuries.
The 2016 fair kicks-off with a VIP Preview Party, which will benefit the Parrish Art Museum and Southampton Hospital, on Thursday evening. Prominent collectors, curators, designers and decorators will have a sneak peak at this years offerings, which include blue chip modern and contemporary works from iconic artists and the emerging, mid-career, Post War and Pop eras. The fair also will highlight some of the East End's most prolific past and present artists, including Perry Burns, Eric Fischl, Raymond Hendler, Jeff Muhs, Charlotte Park, Susan Vecsey and Esteban Vicente.
Brooke Shields will co-curate The New York Academy of Art exhibition, Call of the Wild, with Academy President David Kratz. The show will feature paintings and sculptures by academy alumni that focus on the natural world and the animal kingdom.
Shark Tank host Kevin OLeary will be on hand opening night to introduce his contemporary photography exhibition Irreconcilable Images, presented by Gallery Valentine. Sales of OLearys photographs in the curated installation will benefit the Perry J. Cohen Foundation and aspiring Teenage Entrepreneurs.
